Projects

  • Memory Management in XV6

  • xv6 uses 32-bit virtual addresses, resulting in a virtual address space of 4GB. xv6 uses paging to manage its memory allocations. However, xv6 does not do demand paging, so there is no concept of virtual memory.xv6 uses a page size of 4KB, and a two level page table structure. The CPU register CR3 contains a pointer to the page table of the current running process. The translation from virtual to physical addresses is performed by the MMU as follows. The first 10 bits of a 32-bit virtual address are used to index into a page table directory, which points to a page of the inner page table. The next 10 bits index into the inner page table to locate the page table entry (PTE). The PTE contains a 20-bit physical frame number and flags. Every page table in xv6 has mappings for user pages as well as kernel pages. The part of the page table dealing with kernel pages is the same across all processes.
  • LPG Gas Detection using Arduino

  • LPG gas sensor module is used to detect LPG Gas. When LPG gas leakage sensed, it will give a HIGH pulse on its DO pin and Arduino constantly reads its DO pin. When Arduino receives a HIGH pulse from the LPG Gas sensor module it displays the“LPG Gas Leakage Alert” message on 16x2 LCD and stimulates buzzer which beeps again until the gas detector module doesn't recognize the gas in the environment. When Arduino gets a LOW pulse from the LPG Gas detector module, then LCD will show the“No LPG Gas Leakage” alert message.Arduino manages the complete process of this system like reading LPG Gas sensor module output, sending a message to LCD and stimulating buzzer. We can set the sensitivity of this sensor module by inbuilt potentiometer located on it.
  • Traffic Light Control System Using 8086

  • Traffic light is an optical signalling device that indicates different signals related to traffic, rail, naval and pedestrian. It aims at traffic safety. In our project we have designedTraffic light controller interface module to simulate the function of four way traffic light controller. Combinations of red, amber and green LED’s are provided to indicate Halt, Wait and Go signals for vehicles. Combination of red and green LED’s are provided for pedestrian crossing. 36 LED’s are arranged in the form of an intersection. A typical junction is represented on the PCB with comprehensive legend printing. At the left corner of each road, a group of five LED’s (red, amber and 3 green) are arranged in the form of a T-section to control the traffic of that road. Each road is named North (N), South(S), East (E) and West (W).
  • Restaurant Management System

  • A restaurant management system (RMS) is an essential tool for any new restaurant. These systems are designed to keep your restaurant running by tracking employees, inventory and sales. A typical RMS setup usually includes both software and hardware, such as a cash register, barcode scanner and receipt printer, depending on how your restaurant is organized. Most importantly, an RMS is a comprehensive tool that allows you to see your restaurant and its needs at a glance, which can simplify your workload on a day-to-day basis. A restaurant management system is a type of point-of-sale (POS) software specifically designed for restaurants, bars, food trucks and others in the food service industry. Unlike a POS system, RMS encompasses all back-end needs, such as inventory and staff management.
